Rental requirements

👤 Age and driver's license seniority
Minimum age: 18 years. No seniority required for the license, but:
- Young drivers: under 23 years old or with less than 2 years of driving license seniority must pay an additional fee of USD 5 per day on the rental and will be charged a 50% increase in the security deposit.
- Senior drivers: over 70 years old. No additional charge applies to the rental, but the security deposit is increased by 50%.

📋 Required documentation (photocopies and digital documents are not accepted)
- Nationals: valid ID card (original).
- Foreigners: valid passport (original).
- Valid driver's license, national or foreign (original). An international permit is not required.
- International credit card for the security deposit.

💳 Security deposit by credit card
It is mandatory to present an international credit card in the name of the contract holder to cover the security deposit or deductible. Debit card or cash deposits are not accepted. Only Visa and Mastercard are accepted (American Express is not accepted). The deductible is the maximum amount of the customer's liability in the event of a claim, except in cases of proven third-party fault confirmed by the insurance company. The available balance will be released between 15 and 20 days after the vehicle is returned, as a contingency for fines that may be reported late.

⚠️ The basic coverage included in the rate does not cover airbag rupture or vehicle rollover. If either of these occurs, the maximum liability for the vehicle (security deposit) is doubled.

The security deposit or deductible amount varies depending on the model chosen:
- USD 1,000: Economy and Compact categories: Renault Kwid, Chevrolet Onix, Citroën C3.
- USD 1,200: Sedan models: Chevrolet Onix Plus, Fiat Fiorino Van.
- USD 1,500: Renault Oroch Manual double cabin.
- USD 1,500: Compact Automatic: VW Gol Hatch G8, VW Polo.
- USD 1,500: Manual SUV: Citroën Basalt.
- USD 2,000: Automatic SUVs and Electric vehicles: Fiat Pulse, VW Nivus, Fiat FastBack, Renault Duster, BYD Seagull, BYD Dolphin.

You can reduce your security deposit by 50% by purchasing Premium coverage.

- Reduces the security deposit amount by 50%.
- Includes roadside assistance for flat tires or lost keys.
- In case of rollover or airbag deployment, vehicle liability is not increased.
- Only available with credit card.
- Additional cost: USD 12 per calendar day.

📆 Day calculation
The following conditions apply to calculate rental days:
- The pickup day is counted as a full day, regardless of the drop-off time.
- If returned by 9:30 am, that day is not counted.
- If returned by 12:00 noon, half a day's rental is charged.
- After 12:00 pm, the full day is charged.

Examples: pickup Friday 10:00 am and return Monday 9:00 am = 3 days. Pickup Friday 9:00 am and return Monday 12:00 pm = 3.5 days. Pickup Friday 5:00 pm and return Monday 5:00 pm = 4 days.

💵 Payment methods for the rental
We accept credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express), debit cards and cash (US dollars or Uruguayan pesos at the day's BROU selling exchange rate). The rental price does not vary depending on the payment method.

⛽ Full-to-full fuel policy
Vehicles must be returned with the same fuel level as at pickup. Otherwise, the missing fuel plus a 20% administrative fee will be charged. Electric vehicles are delivered with at least 80% battery; if returned with a lower battery level, a flat fee of USD 15 will be charged.

🧼 Cleanliness and condition of the vehicle upon return
The vehicle must be returned in reasonably clean condition, similar to how it was delivered. If excessive dirt, tobacco odor (smoking is prohibited in the vehicle) or dirt from transporting pets (not allowed) is detected, a USD 15 fine will apply.

🌍 Exclusive benefit for foreign tourists
Uruguay offers 0% VAT on the rental of vehicles without a driver for foreign tourists paying with credit cards issued abroad. The merchant charges the full amount and the VAT discount is automatically refunded to the card statement, according to current regulations. Legal basis: Decree No. 220/2025. Validity: from November 15, 2025 to April 30, 2026. For summer 2027 this benefit has not been confirmed yet: we are awaiting the corresponding ministerial resolution and will keep this page updated as soon as there is news.

What does your rental rate include?

Our rates are designed to give you transparency and peace of mind. When you rent with us, you get:
- 🛡️ Mandatory basic insurance: liability and third-party damage coverage.
- 🚗 Unlimited mileage: from 3 days of rental, drive with no mileage limit.
- 🛣️ Electronic toll tag: when you return the vehicle, you pay the tolls used at the official rate (only in Uruguayan pesos, cash or debit).
- ⛽ Full tank: the fuel level upon return must match the level at pickup.
- 💰 Taxes included: rates are in US dollars and include all applicable taxes.

❌ Our vehicles are not authorized to circulate outside of Uruguay.

Additional services such as GPS, child seats or Premium coverage are available for an extra cost.

* Note on unlimited mileage: 1-day rentals include 150 km of driving. 2-day rentals include 300 km. Extra km cost USD 0.25/km.

We offer a number of optional extras to tailor the service to your needs. All extras are requested at the time of booking or before vehicle pickup, subject to availability.

📍 Delivery and return
- Carrasco Airport: USD 50 per leg (minimum 5-day rental; for exceptions, please email us your inquiry).
- Port of Montevideo: USD 20 per leg.
- Main offices: no extra charge during business hours, USD 30 outside business hours (to be arranged in advance).
❌ Not available: deliveries or returns in other cities of Uruguay (e.g. Punta del Este, Colonia).

👶 Child equipment
Child seat with ISOFIX (seat or booster depending on age and weight): USD 3 per day.

🧭 Navigation
Garmin GPS: USD 5 per day.

Additional driver
USD 10 one-time fee per rental, for each extra driver beyond the main one.

Travel assistance
Assistance in case of flat tires or lost keys: USD 2.5 per day (if not purchased in advance and requested at the time, USD 50 for the service). Included at no extra cost when purchasing Premium coverage.
